“What is Bidalak?

Akshi Bidalak is an Ayurvedic therapy specifically designed for the eyes, where a medicated paste (usually herbal) is applied to the eyes and the surrounding area.

This therapy is used to cleanse, nourish, and rejuvenate the eyes, particularly targeting Pitta dosha imbalance and related eye conditions.

It is often used in conjunction with other eye therapies like Akshi Tarpan to provide holistic care for the eyes.

Procedure :-

  • Preparation: A herbal paste, commonly made from ingredients like Sandalwood, Turmeric, Neem, Triphala, or Brahmi, is prepared and slightly warmed.
  • Application: The paste is gently applied around the eyes, including the eyelids, and sometimes directly on the eyelids (if needed). The area is carefully massaged for a few minutes.
  • Duration: The paste is kept on the eyes and the surrounding area for a while , depending on the individual’s tolerance and condition.
  • Duration: The paste is kept on the eyes and the surrounding area for about 10-15 minutes, depending on the individual’s tolerance and condition.

Post-Procedure Care :-

  • Rest the Eyes: After the therapy, avoid straining the eyes with reading or screen use for at least 30 minutes to help the eyes absorb the benefits.
  • Avoid Direct Sunlight: Protect the eyes from direct sunlight and harsh lighting to avoid irritation.
