What is Infertility?
It is the inability to conceive a child.
Infertility is defined as a failure to conceive within 1 or more years of regular protected coitus.
A couple may be considered as infertile if the woman is unable to bear a child despite regular sexual intercourse for a period of 2 years.
It may be male or female infertility.
How do I know if I am infertile?
Your inability to conceive a child may not necessarily mean that you’re infertile. It may simply be the result of an underlying condition which may be corrected with Ayurvedic treatment. What does Ayurveda say about Infertility?
Ayurveda has a vast literature explaining about the causes, symptoms, types and management of infertility.
It explains the necessity of 4 factors for conception. They are :-
Ritu- The right Season/period
Kshethra- A fertile womb
Ambu- Nourishment to the foetus
Beeja- Functional Sperm and Ovum
When the availability of these four factors are ensured, the couple will conceive without any difficulty.
The Vandhyatwa or Klaibya occurring as a result of congenital anatomical defects in the reproductive organs only are said to be incurable (which are very rare).
