“What is Valuka Sweda?
Valuka Sweda, also known as Sand Fomentation Therapy, is an Ayurvedic sudation (sweating) technique using a bolus made of heated sand.
It involves the application of a warm sand bolus on specific areas of the body, providing relief from pain, stiffness, and swelling.
This therapy is primarily used for conditions with Kapha and Vata imbalances.”

Procedure :-
- Preparation of Bolus: Clean, dry sand is heated and tied into a cloth bolus (Pinda).
- Application: The warm sand bolus is massaged onto the affected area using circular or gentle strokes, maintaining a comfortable temperature.
- Duration: The therapy usually lasts for 20-30 minutes, depending on the patient’s condition and tolerance.
